Foothills is excited to announce that we will be expanding our Girls with Game Program this year.  Last year we saw our female registration increase by almost 50%.  Based on this success, District 3 has agreed to allow girls from outside of our boundaries to join our program.  We are looking to form all girls teams in T-Ball, Coach Pitch, Minors A, Minors AA and Nationals.  The girls teams will be playing against other Foothills coed teams and possibly all girls teams from other associations.
In addition, the Board has approved to give our female athletes more flexibility in which age group they play in.  Starting at the Minors Division female ball players will have the OPTION to remain in a division for an additional year.
The new age brackets for girls are as follows:
Minors 8, 9, 10, 11*
Majors 11, 12, 13*
Juniors 13, 14 & 15*
* Optional year for division
This new rule will apply to spring ball only.
There are also two Girl Jamborees that will be held in Calgary in May in June, more details on the Jamborees to come.
