Foothills Little League Safety
Foothills Little League fosters a safe, positive and inclusive environment where young athletes can develop their skills, build their self-confidence and make new friends, while learning sportsmanship and building character.
The safety and well-being of all participants in the Little League® program is paramount. Little League promotes a playercentric program where young people grow up happy, healthy, and, above all, safe. Little League strives to create an environment that is as safe as possible both on and off the field. Little League does not tolerate any type of abuse against a minor, including, but not limited to, sexual, physical, mental, and emotional (as well as any type of bullying, hazing, or harassment). Little League’s goal is to prevent child abuse from occurring through required screenings, training and education, awareness, and mandated reporting of abuse.
Requirements
All Board Members, Assistant Coaches and Head Coaches need to complete the following three requirements:
- Police Check
- Volunteer Application
- Abuse Awareness Training
If you haven't received instructions on how to obtain your Police Check free of charge then please email our Safety Coordinator so that they can explain the process to you.
You can access the Abuse Awareness Training on the Little League web site with the following link: Little League Training. The course will take about 30 minutes to complete. Once your training is complete you will receive a certificate. Please email a copy of the certificate to our Safety Coordinator.
As per Little League International Requirements all volunteers need to fill out a Volunteer Application Form. We have set up an online registration process to make it easier for volunteers.
